Getting our children used to the idea of community service can be kind of daunting, then Ark Animal Centre shared their event.

They needed a clean up and we needed to set an example, so we went and we landed up doing all the work. The kids, well they played.

They also got to feed a massive pig and partake in a small Treasure Hunt.

They also managed to experience the joy of gardening. One even got to handle the trimmers, 'snipping' (More like supervised hacking) at the bushes, in complete bliss. They all dug a hole for wooden plaques that Ark Animal Centre blessed us with. Our names are now embedded in their garden. How exhilarating.

We left feeling good about the example we had set and we got Community Service Certificates. What a bonus.

Next time they need help, we are definitely game. It was an absolute pleasure.

I was especially impressed with their tact. No animals suffering and a stunning sanctuary.
